Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training is a mandatory program established under California law passed in 2022 to educate individuals currently working in establishments with on-premises alcohol licenses. What is LEAD?
Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) is a voluntary education program offered by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). Unlike RBS, LEAD is not mandatory, but still serves as a valuable resource for employees and licensees of off-sale locations such as liquor stores, convenience stores, and gas stations.
