How Do I Confirm That an Alcohol Server for My One-Day Event is RBS Certified?

Confirming that your alcohol servers are RBS certified is a critical step in hosting a successful and legally compliant one-day event in California. With a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification playing a vital role in promoting responsible alcohol service, it’s important to verify that your staff has met these requirements before working at the event. 

How to Confirm RBS Certification:

1. Request the Server ID and last name exactly how it appears in the ABC Portal from the server
2. Use the RBS Portal through a certification lookup to verify certification. The portal is available to License Administrators. 
3. If you don’t have access to a portal you can have team members submit a screenshot of their server ID certification box with their full name visible, Server ID number, and certification status. 
4. Contact your local district office for additional verification if needed
