Troubleshooting Missing License Numbers on Your RBS Server Roster

If you’ve logged into the California RBS Portal and noticed that not all of your license numbers are appearing on your RBS server roster, it’s important to find out why this might be happening and how to resolve the issue.

Common Reasons and Solutions

  1. License Not Added to Your Account:
  • Why this might happen: A license must be added to your License Administrator account before it will appear on the RBS server roster. It will not automatically show up, you will need to manually enter it. If a license is missing, it may not have been added to your RBS Portal account.
  • Solution: To add a license to your account:
    1. Log Into the California RBS Portal: Login to your account using your License Administrator login credentials.
    2. Switch Dashboard: Click on “Switch Dashboard” then “Manage Licenses” from the options available.
    3. Add License: Follow the instructions to add a new license number to your RBS Portal account. Confirm you have the correct license number and validation code, if required.

2. License Type Not Subject to RBS Requirements:

  • Why this might happen: Only license types that are subject to RBS requirements will appear on your RBS server roster. Some license types are exempt from RBS certification and will not show up on the roster. Click here to see which license types are subject to RBS requirements and here to see which ones are not.
  • Solution: Verify the type of license you manage and check to see if it falls under the RBS certification requirements. You can refer to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) guidelines to understand which license types are subject to RBS regulations.

How to Manage Your Licenses Efficiently in the RBS Portal

  • Review license information regularly to make sure your establishment is remaining compliant.
  • Consult California RBS Portal for requirements for different license types.
  • Seek assistance from ABC Support Team at rbstp@abc.ca.gov or your local ABC district office.

If some of your license numbers are missing from your RBS server roster on the California RBS Portal, it is usually due to the need to add the licenses to your License Administrator account or because the license types are not subject to RBS requirements. By following the steps outlined above, you can ensure that all relevant licenses are correctly and fully added and visible on your RBS server roster, helping you maintain compliance with California’s Responsible Beverage Service regulations.
