If you’re preparing for your RBS certification in California and have completed your RBS training course, you might be awaiting access to the ABC Alcohol Server Certification Exam. There may be occasions when you may find yourself unable to access the exam as initially expected. Understanding why this might happen and how to resolve the issue can help you stay on track and on your way to obtain your certification.

Understanding RBS Exam Access

1. Training Confirmation Delay

• Training providers have up to 24 hours to confirm course completion and give access to the state exam.
• You’ll receive an email from ABC when confirmation is processed and when your exam becomes available.

2. Accessing the Exam

• Check your RBS Portal message center for exam availability notifications.
• Look for an active “Take Exam” button on your RBS Server dashboard. This button will become active when your training provider communicates your course completion to ABC.

Steps to Take If You Can’t Access the Exam

1. Verify Training Confirmation

• Wait Period: Ensure that you have waited the full 24 hours after completing your training course before seeking further action.
• Check Notifications: Look for the email notification from ABC in your inbox and spam/junk folder to ensure you haven’t missed any communication about your exam.

2. Contact Your Training Provider

If you have not received confirmation of your training after the 24 hour wait period:

• Reach Out: Contact your training provider directly to check the status of your training confirmation. There may be a delay or an issue that needs to be resolved on their end which is preventing your exam from becoming available.
• Provide Details: When contacting your training provider, provide them with your name, training details, server ID number, and any confirmation receipts you have to expedite the process.

3. Log into the RBS Portal

• Access Issues: Double-check that you are logging into the RBS Portal with the correct credentials and ensure there are no issues with your account before reaching out to your training provider.
• Message Center: Verify that you have checked the message center in your RBS Portal for any messages related to your exam availability.

Remember, your training provider has up to 24 hours to confirm your training. You will receive a notification from ABC once the exam is available. This notification will show up in your message center in your ABC Portal. If you encounter any delays or issues after the 24 hour wait period, contact your training provider promptly and ensure all your details are correct in order to gain access to your exam.
